HFMD
Posted by Kehan.H at 9:33 PMHand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), usually affects infants and children, it's uncommon in adults as most adults have strong immune systems to defeat the virus. Unfortunately, I'm the minority of the adults who are down with HFMD. Thanks to Jovie & Johnathan!!! The symptoms of HFMD are sooo common that we all didn't realize we were infected till the sores came about on Jovie and Johnathan limbs. It really took all by surprise and I was "lucky" enough that Jovie wasn't too grumpy when she was ill this time round. But poor Johnathan wast that well, he started having fever then loss of appetite then vomiting then rashes on the limbs followed by on the buttocks. Sad to hear Doc say that there isn't any medication to treat HFMD. All I hope now is that we will all recover soon.

Jovie is ill Again
Posted by Kehan.H at 10:45 PMRashes, rashes and more rashes. Doctor have already advise that she needs extra care to her sensitive skin problem but it didn't really strike us that it will become this bad. The rashes were so bad till the skin is starting to peel off from the shoulder. Ouch! It really is painful even by just looking at it. Surprisingly, she was alright yesterday night. Not very sure what happened that cause the sudden rash. Brought her to see her PD and he prescribed Bactroban. After surfing the NetDoctor and I understand that the cream is used for bacterial skin infections. This cream will interferes with a bacterial enzymes and slows down the growth, hence the skin will be able to heal. Having slight fever too, but all in all she still is my happy Baby Jovie.

Finally!
Posted by Kehan.H at 11:45 PMFinally Jovie is asleep, with so many things to think about I could hardly go to sleep. From issues like pacifier, ear piercing, milk powder, medicine to shoes.
Jovie has been giving us a hard time tiring to coax her to sleep. While my mother in-law insisted that she wants a pacifier. Although we managed to put her to sleep after an extra oz or 2 of milk, but books have suggested that it not good for the baby's gums.
Ear pericing for Jodie... After she saw some beautiful ear rings of mine, she decided that she wants to get her ears pierced despite me telling her that it's very painful and mummy even cried while getting mine pierced. Surfed the net and there seems to have many incident of children ear rings missing (hence have to spent $$ to get it replaced), children who likes to put things into their mouth can accidentally swallow the pins or even the screw backs. *sigh*
Jovie seems to have lots of wind in her tummy and doctor suggest that we change her to goat milk. Which is at least S$4 more expensive then her current Friso. Still thinking if I should give her the medication Rid Wind or should I really change to Goat Milk.
